What a great way to use those photos that are just setting in a box or in a photo album not being seen. You can also create wonderful ideas for gifts and home decor with your favorite pictures.
This DIY project is fun and fairly simple to do. It takes a little patience but well be worth your time.
What I love about this project is that you can use any shape or size of wood, just be sure the surface is smooth and flat. I like to paint the back and edges for a finished look. If you prefer just leave your wood unfinished. Either way it is a great way to show off your photos.
In the video below, Morena from Morena’s Corner shows us just how to transfer a photo to wood. She makes it look so simple.
Some supplies you will need include: unfinished wood panel, Mod Podge transfer medium, foam brush set, Krylon triple thick crystal clear glaze, and a color copy of your photo. Morena explains that ‘you need to use a color photo copy…heat set, not ink jet and no actual photos.’
This would be a great project to do with your children or grandchildren. Husbands, you might even enjoy putting your favorite hunting pictures, outdoor adventures, or you and your spouse on display. Be creative and enjoy.
I have done this for my grand kids. They love to carry their pictures around and you don’t have to worry too much about them being destroyed.
