Are you ready for fried caramel apple rings? I am so ready. Summer is almost here and this is perfect.
These scrumptious donuts make my mouth water. This recipe is really very simply and my family can’t get enough of them.
This dessert is like no other. All you need is pancake mix, water, caramel and apples. Cinnamon and sugar are used for the topping. I use 1 tablespoon cinnamon to 1 cup of sugar. But you can adjust this to your taste. Pick a really good caramel sauce. It can make all the difference.
Ingredients: 1 cup pancake mix 3/4 cup water. Mix the two together and set aside.
Wash and slice your choice of apple, I used a Fuji. Core with a melon scoop. So easy to do it this way.
Warm your favorite caramel sauce to a smooth consistency so that it will stick to your apple ring. Coat the outside of your apple ring with the caramel sauce.
Next dig your apple ring into the pancake mix, turn it over to coat. Now gently place it in the hot oil. Since temperatures can very, watch your apple ring closely. I cooked mine about 1 minute on each side and I turned it twice.
For a healthier choice in oils, I used grape seed oil. Use your favorite oil. Be sure it is an oil that can stand the temperature.
I heated my oil to about 375 degrees F. Remember the thicker the slice the more cooking time you will need. See the video below, it shows you just how easy this dessert is to make.
